The Nutritional Program will be the primary focus at the clinic, as this is where we have seen the results thus far. A neurological Oncologist will oversee the program, consisting of TBL-12 in addition to other naturopathic supplements and foods for complete healing.

Acupuncture

Studies have shown the benefits of acupuncture in conjunction with other traditional cancer treatments in helping with fatigue, insomnia, pain and nausea and vomiting. While our Treatment Program will not induce any of these ill side effects, healing from previous treatments is the initial step in our Program.

Physical Therapy

DIPG Patients often need physical therapy to keep their muscles from atrophying, a common side effect in steroid use so often prescribed in DIPG treatments. In addition to the need for strengthening the body due to previous treatments' side effects, physical therapy also aids in maintaining balance, strength, and coordination to help the child continue to act and feel like a child - helping their psychological health as well.

Massage and Aromatherapy

For cancer Patients, a safe massage plan customized to the unique needs of each individual Patient aids in reducing stress and depression, as well as nausea and pain. Stress reduction is especially important in children with cancer because stress hormones inhibit a process called anoikis, which kills diseased cells and prevents them from spreading. Aromatherapy added to massage has similar benefits with stress and anxiety reduction, aiding in recovery.

Family Psychological Therapy

It comes as no surprise that the diagnosis of cancer in a child can be a major stressor for parents and siblings, in addition to the Patient. A child will recover more quickly when less stressed, which is why we feel it is an important part of the process to help the family individually, and as a whole, to work through the trauma of their diagnosis. Financial burdens, role strains, and the pain of watching a child suffer can strain marriages and families. While at our clinic, families will have the opportunity to speak with a psychologist who will help them work through the issues in a constructive, positive way that will aid in the healing of everyone.
